Ask me anything you want about any of my stories: how I thought of the idea, what I did to write it, what I was thinking when I wrote it, what I feel about it now, what I wish I'd done differently, etc. Or ask any of the characters from particular stories something you want to know, and get an answer from them. Or both.

A question for the Prince when the humble Clark ended up at your castle while you were cursed to be a giant bat in Tale As Old As Time: did you think this visitor could free you from the curse? And what did you feel about him?

I hoped he would free me, for I could do nothing else, though at first I was more concerned about his injury and then what he would do when he truly realized I was... cursed. I hoped, but I didn't dare hope too much, because I knew the chances of him loving me were slim at best.

As for your second question; after he had woken up I knew he was a kind man, a good man. Seeing him with Alfred and Dick, seeing how happy they both were to have him in the castle made me happy, for they had both suffered so long for me, at no fault of their own. As I saw how gentle Clark was with Dick, how respectful he was toward Alfred, and how in awe he was of simple, everyday things, yet how he had a will of steel... It relived me, because I began to see that should anything ever happen to me, Alfred and Dick would be looked after, be content, with Clark. That was when I fell in love with him, I suppose, though it is very difficult to say when I actually did.

You know, I only just remembered as I was thinking about this question, that it had actually been inspired by another story, one that I can remember reading, but not where, or what its title is. But it had a similar scenario: Tim and Kon were together and Bruce and Clark were wondering if they should tell them about their own failed relationship. So the scene that Dick, Tim and Kon witness on the watchtower was what really started the fic off, along with some of Kal's dialogue - the 'Never' line, when Bruce tells him to let him go - as well as a desire for a happy ending, with Dick, Tim and Kon, with Alfred's help, having got Bruce and Clark back together.

You wrote a story called "20 Facts About Bruce Wayne," and at the end Batman has to kill Superman. Is that a "fact" in the sense of that's how you definitely see their relationship finishing one day? Or is that more a sort of...possible fact, if that makes sense? It's really haunted me and so I've sometimes wondered if you see that as an end your characters are heading toward.

Definitely, definitely a possible 'fact'! To be really honest, I didn't want to write that story - I mean I thought it was a cool idea, but I didn't want to join in especially. But, the muse came upon me, so what could I do? So I was little grumpy when I wrote it, and I just wanted to end it, end it on a bang, and in a way that I hoped would rid me of my frustration. So I had Bruce kill Clark. Do I think it's possible? Well, no. I think it's far more likely to be the other way around, that Clark kills Bruce. Sure, they might have to fight each other, and Clark or Bruce could be badly hurt, but I in no way see them killing each other.

If they have to die then I'd want them to die either of old age, in Bruce's case, or that Clark somehow accelerates his aging, so he can die with Bruce. The only other way I can see them dying is, for Bruce, in a similar situation to my story 'The Sea', where the odds just overtook him, he was trying to save someone, or Harvey killing him. With Clark the only way I'd want him to die would be against a threat that no one else could fight, only Superman, such as Doomsday. That's my ideal way for them both to die.

... So, I've rambled a lot! But really that story is in its own little AU world, and that last one is only a possibility. :) *hugs*

It's a fascinating question, though, isn't it? Thanks so much for taking the time to contemplate and explain! I don't really like to ponder the eventual ends of the different versions of them I have, in some ways. It's hard to make it work out just right, you know? I think I often tend to assume that my versions of them die together, facing some major foe...but I don't think I've ever written that because it's such a painful thought.
