Ficlet: Must Be Tuesday

worlds_finest's 5th Anniversary Celebrations! For the prompt 'Superman is being mind-controlled (must be Tuesday) and Batman accidentally grabs the Pink K ring instead of the Green K ring. ;)'. Unbetaed, so point and I shall correct! :)
It was a Tuesday. Everything was going as normal - Lois was demanding his attention to correct her spellings, Jimmy had had lunch with him, the Chief had been bellowing at everyone and everything... and oh yes. He had gone up to the roof for some air and... was promptly mind controlled.

Batman looked at the images of destruction of Metropolis. People were running and screaming as their hero turned against them. The Justice League was already on its way, but they needed more. The weapon that Kal-El had given him to use against him.
Batman ran into his vault, and grabbed the case that held the Green Kryptonite ring.

There was chaos in Metropolis. Thank small fortunes that Clark had had the presence of mind to change to Superman when he felt himself becoming mind controlled, otherwise that would have been very hard to explain.
Flash was running circles around Superman, attempting to distract him. Green Lantern was seeing to the safety of the bystanders. J’onn was trying to reach out to Kal mentally, to release him from him mind control. Wonder Woman was attempting to put her Lasso about Kal, to break the mind control that way.
Flash fell. Batman narrowed his eyes, seeing Superman, eyes glowing red, turn to look straight at him. This was it. Kal pushed Diana aside, and started toward him. Batman took out the ring, slipped it on his finger, and Kal froze, blinking, and then...
Then he stared at Batman, his eyes fading back to blue, and a goofy smile spread over his face, before he flew the remaining distance to him, grabbed him, and kissed him.
Batman froze, aware that a sudden silence had fallen. With great difficulty, he pulled away from Kal’s mouth, that seemed determined to smother his face with kisses. Kal beamed at him, a hint of pink in his eyes, and Batman froze anew, realization dawning. He had grabbed the wrong ring box... But before he could do anything else, Superman fell to his knees before him, and asked him to marry him.

Clark blinked awake, wondering where and when he was. Was it morning? No, he had been at work, and then... Oh. Oh! Oh.
He froze in horror and mortification.
There was movement beside him, and, very slowly, dreading what he would see, he turned. Bruce was looking at him evenly. Clark blinked back, praying that it had all been a dream, that it hadn’t been real, even as he felt his face blush flame red.
Bruce was silent. Maybe they could just... pretend that it hadn’t happened? Um. Bruce was still staring at him. “Um...” Was it possible to die of embarrassment?
Bruce sighed suddenly, turned his head away, though Clark thought he saw a hint of a smile. “Come on, Clark. We’ve got a lot to do.”
“Um... we do?” Terror was starting to overcome him again. What would Bruce do to him as punishment for... He couldn’t finish the thought; blushed madly again.
Bruce turned back to look at him, a smirk fully on his face, now. “Why yes. It’s going to be the wedding of the century, after all.”
