Author's Note: The sixth fic in the Shuffle I series. For the
worlds_finest Shuffle I Challenge - prompt 'In My Arms'. Unbetaed, so point and I shall correct! :)
Clark is lying in his arms. He seems stunned. Bruce tries to get his breathing under control. That had been... intense.
"Bruce?" Clark looks at him, confusion and wariness and pain and a little anger in his eyes. "Didn't you hear what I just said? That - this - is over?"
He starts to sit up, but Bruce straddles him, forcing him back to the bed. "Do you really think that I'd give up that easily, Clark?" Clark stares at him, eyes vivid. "Who could ever be better for me than you?" Clark opens his mouth, a flush spreading across his face again. "And who could be better for you than me, Kal?"
The blue eyes flash and there's a hint of red in them. But it's Clark who speaks. "Bruce... I don't know if I-"
"Trust me." He looks into Clark's eyes.
Clark gazes back, then smiles. "I trust you, Bruce. I trust you."
