Before the story, I just want to apologize for how behind on everything I am. I've got pages to catch up with the flist, and I owe just about everyone e-mail, but I promise I will get caught up! Eventually...

eve_k! Unbetaed, so point and I shall correct.
Gotham looked beautiful. Mist twined around her dark towers; lights glowed in the dark. They were like will-o'-the-wisps, ready to lure the unwary traveler away from safe paths, into the mists forevermore.
Batman looked over his city.
The mist wrapped about him like a lover, muffling sound, trying to draw him in, make him one with Gotham...
"Hey. Foggy tonight." The mist parted as Superman floated to stand beside him, the colors of his costume bright against the grey-streaked surroundings.
Batman breathed in deeply, Superman's abrupt appearance drawing him back from the trance his city had pulled him into. Superman placed a hand on his shoulder, and Bruce looked into Kal's eyes, saw their unearthliness, distant and remote, and swallowed.
The hand on his shoulder tightened. Bruce reached up and placed his hand over it, squeezing softly.
They looked over the mist covered city together.

Date: 2008-12-27 10:31 pm (UTC)I was reading the "Legends of the Dark Knight" issue this morning, where they have those unbelievable drawings of the old Gotham architecture, so, with them before me, this just fit in perfectly!
I love how Clark appears here too, how he is a counterpoint of some kind to the lure of the city, but on the other side just as unfathomable.
