Title: Saved
Rating: PGish
Pairing: Bruce/Clark
Word Count: 157
Disclaimer: I own nothing
Author's Note: Set during the Justice League episode 'Hereafter'.
I fell into blinding light.
At first it was all to much for my battered body to process, and I could not see or hear anything.
When at last I could see, my blood ran cold.
Deadshot was on the roof of a building and no one had noticed.
He was aiming at Bruce.
My heart stopped.
No one had seen me yet, all to caught up in their 'conversation' with Lobo.
No one could see Deadshot firing.
Firing!
I was almost to late. I almost didn't save him in time.
Almost.
But I did, and Bruce, as I knew he would, recovered first and paralyzed the man who had dared try to shoot him.
I stood behind the cloud of smoke that obscured me from them.
No one could see my fear...or my relief.
But I could see through the smoke. I could see him.
And I knew.
I was smiling even before the smoke disappeared.

Well, I'm lucky the episode worked that way. I just made it more slashier. ;)

Now I can go to sleep with visions of Clark saving Bruce...
