Snow had fallen during the night; Diana had hustled them out of bed as soon as it was light, to go outside and see the world transformed and white.
Steve smiled as Diana finished putting food and water out for the birds, some already flying down to feed. Both he and his angel were wrapped up warm, in thick coats, scarves, gloves and hats, and an idea struck him.
“What are you doing, Steve?” He heard Diana call a few moments later, saw her step over to him, dark hair tumbling over her shoulders. Steve chuckled.
“Making a snow angel.”
“A snow angel?” Diana tilted her head, lips curved in a smile. Steve nodded, stretched out his arms then moved them back and forth, at the same time moving his legs. Then he stood, looked down to see the snow angel he had made.
Diana’s smile was delighted; she swiftly copied what he had done, left a snow angel of her own. “How lovely!”
Steve took her hand, smiled. “I know where the most perfect snow angel is.” He murmured, smiled again as Diana gave him a curious look, then reached out and touched her dark hair, full of tiny flakes of snow, saw her sweet and loving smile, before she kissed him.
