Could be interesting... :) Stolen from [livejournal.com profile] kayim

Go through my interests list and pick one that 1) you know nothing about but sounds intriguing, or 2) you know something about but can't fathom why yours truly would be interested in it, or 3) you know a lot about and love and want to natter on with a kindred spirit and request an explanation (or natter away!). Could be fun, could just be a new way to start a conversation.

*goes and rummages through Caroline's interests*

Um, um, um ... ahhh! You have so many good interests, I don't know what to pick!

Okay, I think I'll do something that almost falls under #3 and pick "wicca"! Are you wiccan? Or pagan? Or just fascinated from afar (like me ;p)? I don't actually know a lot about it, just some; I dabbled a little in the past (probably the way 50% of all teenage girls have, lol), but the occult arts in general have always been something I've meant to set aside time to look into deeper. *grin*

Agh, look, I'm nattering already! *natter natter natter* :D

I'm... kinda! LOL. I shall try and explain, but I don't know if it makes sense to anyone other than me. ;) I was a lot more interested in wicca and paganism. If I was asked what my religion was I would most likely say that I'm pagan, but I don't really do any practical stuff, like the rituals or anything, but I mark the sabbats in own way, by doing some gardening or lighting a candle, or just sitting outside. I agree with a lot of pagan and wicca creeds, but I don't agree with all.

I think part of my backing off comes from seeing people say 'I'm a vegetarian! And what they do when they slaughter animals is cruel and unkind and they shouldn't kill any animals ever!' and then the next moment say 'Here's a pic of me in my really cool leather trench coat! Don't I looked wicked in it?' I'm like '...?' LOL.

So, I have my own beliefs! They follow a lot from pagan/wicca ones, but I guess they're mainly a celtic viewpoint, as in I understand that we need to kill animals, mainly cattle for food and leather, but I don't eat any red meat. But that's more because I just find it very difficult to eat it, especially beef, for some reason, lol. But I also understand that we need to give things back to the earth in return for growing crops and such. This might come from the fact that my mum comes from a farming background, so I've been exposed to the harsh realities of farming from a early age, and in any argument between environmentalists and farmers, 99% of the time I take the farmers side. When I grow plants in the garden, they are mainly flowers and herbs that attract bees, which help pollinate my parent's vegetables, but the herbs can also be used in cooking.

So... I believe in some, and I'm definitely more pagan than christian or another main religion, but I'm following my own path with things that make sense to me. The Caroline Religion! LOL

Wow, that's a long ramble! I think I nattered a lot... :)

'Here's a pic of me in my really cool leather trench coat! Don't I looked wicked in it?' I'm like '...?'

O.O I've heard of people like that--have never actually met any (thank goodness), but ... dot-dot-dot-question mark-question mark indeed, LOL.

Anyway ... yay for the Caroline Religion! That makes perfect sense. :) I think it can be (or I find it to be, at least ;p) hard to stick rigidly to an established religious path because, well ... other people created it! And chances are it won't fit perfectly with who you are and what your unique circumstances are (like what you were saying with the farmers vs. environmentalists). So that's cool that you've kept what resonates with you and changed what doesn't. You've made it your own! *grin*

I used to be like that with my religious beliefs, maybe to an even greater extent, lol; I drew on things from all over the place--Christianity, Buddhism ... and maybe not wicca really, but nature oriented belief systems in general, too. I haven't given spirituality much thought lately, though. Ever since discovering DC fandom, I think I've just made Clark/Bruce my religion, LOL.

Anyway, I enjoyed the nattering very much dear! It was interesting to learn about your beliefs. :D

LOL, I'm glad it made sense! :) I totally agree that you have to make changes, because... well, it wasn't made specifically for you!

I have to admit, since I've started writing again, I've spent less time on the whole religion thing... Clark/Bruce is so a religion. *nods* They are practically gods... LOL

It was really interesting talking to you about my beliefs, and yours! :)

I'll bite: what in the world is a "jaffa cake"?

Oh, and did you see the "Welsh Batman" drawing? http://skitty-kat.livejournal.com/24037.html#cutid1

Oddly, I dreamed last night that Mina and DaMo and I were all in Wales, and a goddess (Arianhrod?) made the ocean rise and swallow up Wales, lol. Mina and DaMO and I were running away on the beach and the waves were about to catch us when I woke up.

All right, this comment was very ADD. *scampers*

JAFFA CAKES!!!!! They are the most wonderfulest, amazingest things in the whole world! And they are all MINE! MINE!!!!

*hoards the Jaffa Cakes*

*eyes everyone suspiciously*

LOL, A Jaffa Cake is a kinda biscuit. They have a sponge cake like base, dark chocolate covering the sponge cake base, and in between the chocolate and sponge cake is a really really really tasty orange flavored jelly-like bit. Evil people will try and tell you that the orange jelly-like bit is marmalade, but they are sooooo very wrong. It is far superior to marmalade. Here is Wikipedia's (all hail Wikipedia!) entry on them. Jaffa Cakes are love (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jaffa_Cakes).

*goes back to eyeing everyone suspiciously*

They're mine I'll tell you! MINE!

I did see the Welsh Batman! Hee! You should have seen me when I realized that Christian was born in Wales. LOL.

You should have headed for Snowdonia! lol. All I got to dream about was evil evil evil spiders invading my room. *pouts*

Ooooh, I wonder if our imported-foods store here would have them! I must go searching!

So is it true, as Wikipedia rashly claims, that the lemon and lime versions are superior?

Spiders in your room? Dreams about spiders are some of the worst. Ugh. *shudders*

You must, for they are wonderful. :)

I... don't know. LOL. I've only ever had the orange ones. However, it does say on the packets for the orange ones that they are the best, so I'm going to agree with them. ;)

Spiders are evil. They are even more evil when you dream about them.
