Drabble: Shadow and Light

Author's Note: Part of my Angels verse. For rai_daydreamer! I hope you had a wonderful birthday! *glomps* Unbetaed, so point and I shall correct.





Clark lay back, staring up at the sky, spreading his wings out to compensate. Bruce made a muffled noise, a small keening of protest. He glanced at his lover, lying face down, his own black wings spread out. They glistened in the sunlight, the feathers gleaming, almost, Clark thought wistfully, making them look as if they were as white as his own.

He glanced at his own wings, bringing one forward to smooth some of the ruffled feathers. Bruce made a keening sound again, and Clark glanced back at him, surprised.

"You're blocking my sun," he muttered, trying to shift.

Clark immediately furled his wings, seeing the shadow flee away from Bruce, who sighed in pleasure. Clark swallowed, feeling a lump in his throat, then bent over and kissed Bruce senseless, banishing all thoughts of good and evil from his mind.

This 'verse is always so bittersweet! Bruce must crave the light since he has to dwell in darkness so much. Poor Clark didn't realize! Lovely drabble, Star.

He's afraid that the darkness and the shadow would take his love away from him? Aww. Poor Clark. I really hope Bruce keep reaching for his light.

Clark spreading his wings and thinking of Bruce’s – that was a beautiful image.

Bruce made a keening sound again, and Clark glanced back at him, surprised.

Poor Bruce. Clark was so preoccupied with his and Bruce’s wings he didn’t realize that.

Clark immediately furled his wings, seeing the shadow flee away from Bruce, who sighed in pleasure.
But I liked how fast he managed to please Bruce.

I think that was my favorite line! And having Bruce happy to be in the sun - he so often isn't, after all.
