Title: Shadow
Rating: PG-13
Characters: Bruce
Word Count: 152
Disclaimer: I own nothing
Author's Note: Not a very happy fic. Unbetaed, so point and I shall correct.
There were always parts of him in shadow. Places where no light would ever reach (an alley in Gotham, soaked with blood, pearls gleaming dully) no matter how hard it tried, (a circus tent, ropes snapping, crushing bodies) no matter how brightly it shone (a Middle-Eastern country, flame and burnt flesh and blood and tears and the echo of laughter).
They would always be covered in darkness (alien blood on a city street, the brightest light of all fading) no matter who or what tried to shed light on them (the light returning; incredulous joy).
It was better that way (the darkness was the color of dried blood) better that those... places, never saw the light, (blood splayed across a wall, a weeping boy in his arms) better that they were cloaked by darkness, (bats wings furled closely around them) better for everyone that they should remain in eternal shadow.

places, never saw the light, (blood splayed across a wall, a weeping boy in his arms)
That was probably the saddest part of the story (at least to me).
The story was so sad but beautifully written Star!
Thank you for sharing this.
