Drabble: Finding Evidence

Title: Finding Evidence

Ace watched Krypto as he danced around his master. The Blue and Red Man was both amused and annoyed. Ace shook his head and padded over to his Master, acting like any sensible dog should. Master was thinking, sometimes touching Evidence. There had been a Crime and Master was going to Solve it.

Blue and Red Man started talking. Master turned to him, listening, and Krypto bounded over, then crouched, tail wagging, inviting him to play chase.

"No," Ace barked. "Working."

Krypto whined, his whole body drooping. Master walked away from the Evidence and stood by the Blue and Red Man's side, by the big black thing that sometimes had people in, even though Ace couldn't smell them.

"Working what?" Krypto wanted to know.

Ace sighed, then jumped up into Master's chair, careful not to start it spinning. Though it was fun when it did that... Krypto hovered at his side. "Evidence. Crime. Solve." Ace barked. Krypto whined again. Ace ignored him and started to sniff at the Evidence. That smelled like Master, that smelled like Blue and Red Man, that smelled like-

"What's this for?"

Ace sighed again. "Krypto, do not touch the-" He sniffed. He sniffed again, nosing the Evidence Krypto had in his mouth. "That's it!"

Krypto's tail began to wag. "I did good?"

"Yes," Ace barked, jumping down from Master's chair and trotting over to him, barking. Master and Blue and Red Man turned and he barked at Krypto. Krypto carefully gave the Evidence to Master, than started cleaning Blue and Red Man's face.

"Down, boy, down!" Bruce ignored Clark's protests. "What is that?"

Krypto was dancing around his feet. Ace stared up at him solemnly. "I've solved the case." Krypto barked. Bruce sighed. "Thanks to Ace and Krypto."

And he was almost bowled over by a flash of white fur.

*grin* "cleaning Blue and Red Man's face" – that is exactly what Krypto loves to do. (And I'm sure Clark loves it as well.) :)

Poor Bruce. :D :D :D I think Krypto must have shown him how happy he was. *smile*

Seriously I can't pick just a single favorite thing here. Ace is just so Darned Serious and Adorable. And that touch of Krypto resisting a spin in the chair is so glee inducing, because that's *exactly* what I'd do myself every time I sit on a chair like that. :p
