Drabble: Love Letters

The first one had appeared on his pillow, when he had come home from a long day at work; from a long patrol. Clark had been about to collapse on his bed, when he saw the letter, with its distinctive symbol. It had made his day.

The second one had appeared in his post at the Planet, one grey and dull morning, when they had been too busy to see each other for even a few moments, the day and night before. Clark had walked around with an absolutely ridiculous smile on his face for the rest of the day.

They had appeared more and more often, after that. There would be one on the meeting table at the JLA, one tucked into a suit pocket, one waiting in his desk drawer, when he opened it. He never spoke to Bruce about them - he knew he would be embarrassed about it, and it would maybe even make him stop. So he never said a word. He treasured each one, marveled at how Bruce seemed to know just when he needed one.

And he started making plans for where he could leave his own love letters.

Bruce was being really really sweet in this! And I have to say I was inspired a lot by your wonderful story - is it 'where lightning strikes'? - where he does all those little things to make Clark happy. :)

LOL, Bruce was being very sneaky! *pets him* Letters are so special, they seem to have more meaning than phones or e-mails. They're something you can actually touch and treasure.
