dcu_freeforall. Prompt of 'Emergency'. Unbetaed, so point and I shall correct! :)
Pieter closed his eyes, his heart beat slowing after it had sped up at the sound the sound of the alarms. Around him, everyone else was doing the same, bringing themselves back from the battle readiness they had entered.
There were groans of disappointment from the younger members of the JSA. (And Ted.)
Pieter opened his eyes again, the now familiar green tinged sight telling him that people were slowly filtering out the room, chatting to each other, going back to what they had been doing.
Charlie fluttered to his shoulder, hooting in his ear loudly, and Pieter smiled, stroking his feathers.
All in all, it was an emergency he liked best: a false one.

I love Pieter just quietly being thankful of a false alarm. :)

Date: 2010-07-05 05:59 pm (UTC)LOL, it might be more of a hoot of 'the stupid alarms woke me up and now nothing's going to happen anyway'. :p

I liked this line. It’s always so nice to see smiling Pieter with Charlie. :)

Date: 2010-07-08 06:02 pm (UTC)Pieter always smiles when Charlie is around! It's impossible not to!
I had a lot of fun writing this, what everyone's reactions would be, and I totally agree with Pieter, the best emergency is a false one!
