skund, who requested Krypto and Ace having doggy fun at the beach with their owners. I hope you like it! Unbetaed, so point and I shall correct. :)
The sand was a golden yellow, under the weak sunlight. A cold wind was blowing fresh off the sea, and the clouds in the distance would bring rain, later. On the surf, Ace and Krypto rolled over and over, mock fighting; pouncing and biting, then leaping into the sea, barking wildly.
Up on the soft golden sand, above the tide line, Clark sat on a blanket with his arm about Bruce. Bruce was leaning into him, into his warmth. He eyed him in concern, feeling the still fresh pain at seeing him hurt. It hadn't been so bad this time, really. Some bruised ribs, and a broken left wrist. A concussion. He had bruises and scratches all over his body, and Clark tightened his hold on him.
The barks increased and Clark glanced back at the dogs. They were racing one another up the beach now.
"Krpyto's using super speed." There was a pout to Bruce's voice.
Clark scrutinized the dogs. "No, he's not."
"Yes."
Clark rolled his eyes. "All right, maybe a little." He brushed a strand of hair away from Bruce's face; the longish lock had been hiding his eyes. The blue was tired. But content. Clark smiled and leaned in, gently kissing him, losing himself in it. Until he was suddenly pounced on.
He fell away from Bruce with a yell. "Krypto!" The white dog woofed happily, licked his face, then shook himself vigorously, spraying him with cold water and sand. He sat up and Krpyto leaped away, hovering in the air, eyes never leaving his face, tongue hanging out and tail wagging.
Clark glanced at Bruce to see Ace calming sitting by his side. And Bruce was smirking, as he petted Ace, stroking his ears. He knew exactly what he was going to say. "I know, I know, I should train him better."
As he spoke, Krypto shot off, then reappeared with half a tree, begging him to throw it. Clark closed his eyes for a moment. Bruce's smirk would have grown, he just knew it. Sighing, he opened his eyes, stood, and threw the tree, to Krpyto's ecstatic yelps.
Ace woofed once, then went off the explore the tide line. Clark settled himself back beside Bruce. Bruce caught his hand and entwined their fingers together. And Clark found himself falling in love with him all over again as he gazed into his eyes.
