Drabble: Ebony Feathered Angel

Clark pressed kisses to Bruce's shoulder, making him moan and arch under him. He moved his hand so he could stoke ebony feathers, and Bruce crooned.

His eyes were dark; with love, with passion. Not a hint of sadness or despair or grief that had been all too present in his eyes recently.

Clark had been worried - Bruce had been sent on many missions for the Dark One, and every time Clark had been with him, his eyes had been a little duller. Never matter that Bruce had done the bare minimum, only just enough to maintain his cover. He knew that Bruce didn't see it that way.

Sometimes, he wished that Bruce would give it up, would come back to the light forever... But he knew that Bruce would never forsake his mission. Not even for him. Just as he would never ask Bruce to: he knew it would be pointless.

Bruce's hands touched his face, his eyes were curious, a small smile brushed his lips. Clark blushed, not realizing that Bruce had caught him thinking.

"I love you," he whispered, leaning down to kiss his Angel disguised as a Demon.

Bruce didn't reply verbally, but his eyes darkened, going deep and knowing, and his smile became tender. All his ways of saying 'I love you', if only you had the patience to see.

Clark curled his wings around him, hiding them away from the world, if only for a short time.

This is so sweet and melancholy. I love how strong Bruce´s passion and his determination on his mission is in any verse. And how Clark is always -- his own wonderful self. :)

I think this verse is always going to be a little bittersweet, lol. *pets Bruce* He is so determined to see his mission through, no matter what the cost to him.
