Drabble: The Trouble with Dogs...

Title: The Trouble with Dogs...

Author's Note: For rai_daydreamer, who requested: Clark/Bruce with jealous and pouting Clark, bonus if there is Krypto and Ace. I hope you like it! :D Unbetaed, so point and I shall correct.



Clark was pouting. He was fully aware of the fact, but it didn't stop him from continuing. Bruce was smirking at him. Clark's pout increased. Bruce's smirk widened.

"It's not fair," Clark whined.

Bruce laughed lowly. "You've only got yourself to blame, Clark."

Clark frowned at Bruce. Before he could respond, the object of his vexation tumbled into the cave, woofing happily, and immediately started to cause chaos. Clark sighed, hearing the bats screeching in protest as Krypto flew up to them, and attempted to... lick them????

Clark quickly looked away from the sight, hearing Bruce laughing again. "It's not fair," he repeated.

"Life isn't fair, Clark." Bruce's voice was smug.

"But Ace never behaves like this!" Bruce petted Ace, who must have appeared when Clark was distracted by Krypto's antics. Damn sneaky bats...

Ace was looking at him serenely, ignoring the still screeching bats and Krypto's barks as he... chased them around the cave??? Clark put his head in his hands. He heard Bruce move over to stand by his side, felt hands encircling his own, removing them from his face. He saw Bruce's eyes, bright with laughter, his fond smile.

"I trained Ace. You didn't train Krypto. Besides, aren't dogs supposed to be reflections of their owners?" Bruce squeezed his hands, and Clark rested their foreheads together. Krypto streaked past their heads, still chasing the bats.

Clark and Bruce turned their heads simultaneously as Ace barked once. Krypto immediately came to a halt, then flew - much slower - to land at Ace's side. Ace lay down on the floor of the cave, head resting on his legs. Krypto lay down next to him, then edged closer until there was no space between them.

"See?" Bruce smirked at him. "Just like their owners."

Awww!! I had a huge smile reading this, I love your crazy Krypto! And of course Ace is really composed and well trained. Alfred would never let Bruce have an untrained dog inside the house :P

That last bit, with Krypto and Ace laying close together, and Bruce just having fun and teasing Clark is adorable. Poor Clark, dogs can embarrass the hell out of us :P But they are cuddly and adorable! and Bruce doesn't mind! woo!

Krypto is crazy. LOL. Of course Alfred would never let Bruce have an untrained dog in the house! Which begs the question how Krypto managed to get in... LOL

I'm not sure! They'll probably make an appearance in some of my Bruce/Clark fics. I don't know if you're interested in my Charlie the Owl stories, but I have ideas for them in that sort-of series too... So they'll be around. I'm just not sure when they will next appear! :)
