Write a drabble (100 words exactly) based on your current default icon. No changing it! Just write it as it comes; no beta-reading or mulling over. Any fandom or no fandom at all.

I went over the 100 word limit by 13, but I can't find a way to cut it down. This is the first time I have written Bruce, and I am not sure at all that I have done it right, but 'no mulling it over' is the rule.

Legend

All the sacrifices made.

All the pain that I have gained.

The way people never see the real me. They either think I am stupid or are too scared of me. Sometimes, even the
people closest to me.

I drive them away to try to protect from...me.

But none of it matters.

I am legend. I, a normal human, have willed myself to godhood with the other superheroes. My only power is my wit,
and my will.

I am Legend.

The rain falls down around me, as I stand here alone. The lights of Gotham making the clouds glow with their
colours.

In the distance, the signal appears.

My duty is never done.

This gave me chills. I love it, and the way it ends with the Mission starting up again...wonderful. You have his voice just right.

I love the mini-drabble below too, by the way! Very lyrical and lovely. You should sstart thinking of posting to worlds_finest...

I am glad you think I had Bruce's voice right. Whenever I have thought about writing him before, I have always been daunted by him, and the fear that I will write him too out of character. Maybe its his way of making sure people don't write fic about him? ;) But the muse came upon me and who am I to deny it?

I was on the verge of never posting this, but I thought that I might just as well, so it was a very pleasant surprise to see that you liked it.

I might think about posting to worlds finest after I have written some more fics. I have come to find that I quite like writing drabbles rather than big plot intensive stories.

Drabbles are an art, and a beautiful drabble is a real gem. I'd love to see some more of yours--and seriously, you should consider posting, either to worlds_finest if it has S&B, and maybe to batfic if it's only got Batman.

Okay, you've convinced me. I'll post Drabble No 2 to worlds finest, as it is the only one that really deals with Clark/Bruce, and after I have joined batfic, maybe post there too.

Ahh!! What a lovely character exploration! Bruce is such a woobie :) I really like that approach to him, the mortal who willed himself to godhood. The drabble really fit the icon, and it's a great piece. I specially loved this line

Because it's so Bruce to tell himself that it doesn't matter! when he really does care. Woobie!
