Awww! this was wonderful, Star! I love the image this is based on, and I think you did a wonderful job at building around it. I love Bruce's dark wings, and how they are just a way of concealing himself so he can protect others. And Clark! This line, it made the story for me:
Bruce had narrowed his eyes at him again, and left, taking to the sky, but not before Clark had caught sight of his eyes. He had gasped at the pain and guilt he had seen there. Clark had left, and gone back to Heaven, shaken by the encounter.
That Clark gets between him and the innocent, thinking he'll do harm, and that it hurts Bruce.. mrowww. I'm so glad they weren't berated, but offered a chance to be together.. and that they found a way to be together and still keep true to their missions. It resonates very beautifully with them. This was gorgeous! thanks for sharing!
