worlds_finest. Unbetaed, so point and I shall correct.
Bruce looked up at the stars. They twinkled down coldly upon him. There was no moon to take away their beauty, their brilliance tonight. Nothing to outshine them, save a brighter star, when the Earth moved enough for the sun to rise.
The night air was cool against him and in his lungs. The smell of the sea was strong - the whole area stank of brine.
Sitting alone in the starlight, Bruce waited.
One of the stars began to move; a low drone filled the sky. Not what he was waiting for.
Hours passed. The stars moved about him, arching slowly across the sky. The air grew colder as dawn approached, and Bruce sighed, hiding his disappointment.
Another night wasted. His Star Child wasn't coming home today.
The palest glimmers of the dawn touched the horizon.
The stars faded away.
