bradygirl_12's birthday!! Happy Birthday! I'm sorry I'm so behind on your journal... I really hope I can catch up soon! And thanks to
jen_in_japan for looking this over. :)
Diana looked out over the sea, the wind blowing at her body, her hair streaming behind her, the fingers of the wind tangling in it, whipping it around as it pleased. Her cloak was pressed tightly against her, snapping.
She stood alone a long time, a silent sentinel over the sea, watching the waves rolling, the sky changing. She hardly noticed the tide, rising to her breasts, then retreating, her clothes and cloak and hair stained by the salt water.
The moon was shining, the stars dancing, before he came, golden hair turned to silver by the moonlight, eyes glowing with concern and love. She didn't move, but felt him stand beside her, joining her in her lonely guard, not saying a word. Out loud, at least; she could see from the corner of her eye the words he wasn't voicing, could see them in his eyes, the way that he could see replies in hers.
Diana moved slowly, breaking her stillness, and caught his hand. He squeezed it, the warmth seeming to bring her back from the places she had been wandering in thought. She turned and he pressed her hand to his lips, making her shiver.
They looked in each others' eyes, then smiled together.
"Let's go home."
They did.
