Title: Angel's Wings
Rating: PG-13 - see Author's Note
Pairing: Clark/Bruce
Disclaimer: I own nothing
Author's Note: A little present for [livejournal.com profile] rai_daydreamer! Based on her beautiful pic of Clark and Bruce with Angel's wings. In this fic, Clark and Bruce are Angels, and there are mentions of God, and Heaven and Hell, which is why this is rated PG-13. Unbetaed, so point and I shall correct.

Clark smiled happily as he draped his arms over his lover's chest. Bruce bent his head back and smiled up at him, one hand coming up to caress his neck. Clark tightened his hold on him, and moved one of his wings slightly so that the pure white feathers were almost caressing his love. Bruce found his lips, and they kissed, deep and long. Clark blushed slightly when they broke apart.

Bruce brought his other hand up, entwining the fingers of their right hands. Clark pulled Bruce back even more against him and Bruce moved his wings so he could lie against his chest. Clark moved his own wings so they were overlapping Bruce's jet black ones. He looked down at their wings, the white and black feathers contrasting sharply.

He had met Bruce first when he was on patrol for Him. He had seen Bruce watching people in a dark alley, invisible to them. Clark had looked around at the people there, the Lost and Unhearing and felt sickened. He had seen Bruce make a move towards one of them, a young woman, and had instantly placed himself between them, protecting - or so he thought at the time - an innocent from a Dark Angel.

Bruce had narrowed his eyes at him, the only two who could see each other in the alley. Clark had spread his wings wide, pure light shining from them and him.

"Begone! Do not tempt these innocents, Dark One!"

Bruce had narrowed his eyes at him again, and left, taking to the sky, but not before Clark had caught sight of his eyes. He had gasped at the pain and guilt he had seen there. Clark had left, and gone back to Heaven, shaken by the encounter.

He had seen Bruce again, numerous times on other patrols. He would always be watching the Lost. It happened so often that Clark had finally asked Him about the Dark Angel. He had given him a long look before explaining that He needed Angels to be watchers, watching the people, but who also kept an eye on Hell as well. Because they needed to have admittance to Hell, their wings were changed to black feathers to give them the appearance of Fallen Ones. But they weren't. They had chosen their fate voluntarily.

Clark had gone away, thinking hard about everything. When he had next seen Bruce again, he had gone to talk to him, learn his name, awed that he had given up so much. Bruce had just smiled wryly at him, but answered his questions.

They soon started seeing each other almost every night. It was on the day most holy to Him that they had first kissed. He had summoned them before Him then, but not to berate them for their feelings, instead asking if Bruce wanted to return to Heaven, to be made a Pure One again.

Bruce had shook his head, saying that he wanted to continue Watching. He had accepted Bruce's choice, them given them His blessing. And here they were today. They Watched together now, working as a team.

Clark looked down at Bruce, then brushed his lips over his. Bruce smiled up at him, eyes full of love. Clark smiled back. He had found his Soul's Mate, and he was never going to let him go.
