Author's Note: For [livejournal.com profile] dcdailylife. Quite short, I'm sorry! I hope Selina is all right. *looks nervous*

I was in Gotham's main museum. I had made a rare venture from my apartment to go and see the Jewellery exhibition they were currently hosting. Some of the most beautiful and expensive pieces of jewellery in the world were here. You would have thought the organizers would have thought twice about bringing a exhibition of some of the worlds most valuable gems to Gotham of all places, but here it was.

I wondered around the displays, admiring the necklaces and bracelets and tiaras, identifying what type of gemstone was what, and how they made the metal do that, and such, hoping to pick up some ideas for own jewellery. I couldn't make anything on this scale, of course, but they gave me inspiration anyway. I would need to get the guidebook, though. With the amount of gemstones in this room, and what they were worth, security was incredibly tight. Even worse than at airports. So definitely no photos allowed. You weren't even allowed to bring anything into the room except yourself. No mobiles, no bags, no nothing. But, you could understand it. Especially in Gotham.

I was admiring a necklace made from Diamonds and Emeralds when a woman came to a stand next to me, admiring it also. I could see that she had dark hair, the kind that I always wanted, looking so smooth and sleek. She looked... incredibly sophisticated, and I suddenly felt like I shouldn't be here, surrounded by all this beautiful glory that was far beyond my reach.

I started to move away, but the woman's voice stopped me. "It's beautiful, isn't it?"

"Uh... yes. Very." I replied, started that she had spoken to me, half convinced that she wasn't. She had beautiful green eyes, so green that they outshone the emeralds beside us.

She smiled at me. "You like it?"

"It's very beautiful." I glanced at the necklace, all glimmering and alluring under the lights surrounding it, showing it off to it's best. So unflawed, so perfect. I thought whoever wore it would have to be perfect themselves, with never a hair out of place and immaculate skin. Like the woman beside me. It would match her eyes wonderfully.

She raised an eyebrow at me, and I blushed hotly as I realized that I had been staring at her. "Sorry. I just noticed that your eyes and the emeralds are the same color."

She smiled at me again, amused this time. "Hmm. So they are."

A security guard walked behind the exhibit. The woman moved away, to a tiara encrusted in rubies. But she smiled at me again, once, before I left.

The next morning I wasn't all that surprised to learn that the necklace we had been admiring had been stolen by Catwoman during the night.
