Drabble: House of Thieves

Author's Note: Written a long time ago for the 'H' Prompt Challenge over at worlds_finest. Unbetaed, so point and I shall correct. :)






Superman wondered how the Bats would react if he told them they were a House of Thieves. Batman would just look at him, and that thought was enough to discourage him from saying anything.

They fought against crime; yes, they were vigilantes, yes, they broke laws, but the bare minimum. Far less than most people thought. And besides, all superheroes were technically vigilantes. The Bats just got called it the most often.

But that did not change to fact that they were, all unknowingly - or perhaps not, you could never quite tell - a House of Thieves. Thieves of hearts. How many people had crushes on Nightwing? Oracle, not even knowing who she was, just amazed and awed by her technical prowess and intelligence?

But then, it got more personal. At least, to the House of El. Supergirl had Batgirl. Superboy had Robin. Superman had Batman.

Their hearts, all too vulnerable, had been stolen by the Bats, without them even noticing.

Awwww. *giggles and melts* I have to say the image of the super-powered folks just constantly being dazzled by the bats and having their hearts stolen makes me so very happy!

And the idea of Bruce looking at him if Clark said so cracked me up!

That was amazing Star! Usually it's Bruce that sees such things (our world's greatest detective is a great observant). But I liked how this time Clark could see that hearts of members of House of El belong to Bat’s family.

Usually it's Bruce that sees such things (our world's greatest detective is a great observant). But I liked how this time Clark could see that hearts of members of House of El belong to Bat’s family.

The House of El do indeed belong to the House of the Wayne Bats. :p

Thank you! :) I found it accidentally and I liked having Bruce and boys together in one picture. I miss Tim there though. Alas I didn't find any picture with all four boys in it.
