Drabble: Kiss the Flame

He burned. He always had, but now... Kal had always glowed. He had always seemed to have a glow about him, a glow from the sun that gave him so much power.

It could never be hidden, only muted by cheep, ill-fitting suits and glasses. As Superman, it was seen clearly, through his dazzling smile. But now...

Bruce swallowed. Batman stepped forward. “Kal?”

The figure, the living flame, turned to him. Dark hair was turned copper under the light. Pale skin glowed golden. And the blue eyes... This was a way Superman had never been seen before. This was... An overdose on sunlight.

“Bruce.” Kal’s face looked pained. “Please. Kiss me.”

He stared. But the danger... He looked at Clark’s eyes. And stepped forward and kissed him, feeling his chin and lips burning. Feeling himself become caught in the living flame.

As Superman, it was seen clearly, through his dazzling smile.
I loved this line. "Dazzling smile" - yes, I think it’s so characteristic for Superman.

“Bruce.” Kal’s face looked pained.
Poor Kal.
He looked at Clark’s eyes.
Clark asking Bruce to kiss him. And Bruce looking to his eyes... and kissing him... that was so touching.

Mmm, this Superman is somewhat different to the one that I normally write. He's feel more... remote to me, and as you say, quite sad. *pets him*
