ilovetobefree. *hugs* Unbetaed, so point and I shall correct.
Clark watches Bruce. Not all the time, obviously. But, of all the people in the world, he is the one that Superman most often looks for. Half of that reason is because the man so willingly puts himself in danger, every night, every day.
The other half, the one he doesn't even really admit to himself, is that the man is simply fascinating. Watching him as Bruce Wayne, brainless playboy, only interested in women. Then, he suddenly turns into a corporate shark, teeth bared. Then shift into the rarely seen Bruce, the one that only appears around his little clan of warriors. And then, Batman, sweeping like shadow though Gotham's murk, justice in every line of his body, criminals quaking in fear before him, and in his wake.
Bruce. Batman. Does the name matter, Kal wonders. His soul is the most important part. Clark cradles it gently when Bruce entrusts it to him, more precious than gold, stronger than diamonds. Mottled with darkness, yes. But shining, most of all, with pure, brilliant light.

Date: 2010-10-21 07:11 am (UTC)You captured so well Clark's feelings and his reasons for watching Bruce. It was amazing to see how well Clark knows Bruce and how much he cares about him!
I really liked the way Clark sees Bruce/Batman – all sides of him. And the part describing Bruce/Batman was so wonderfully written!
His soul is the most important part. Clark cradles it gently when Bruce entrusts it to him, more precious than gold, stronger than diamonds. Mottled with darkness, yes. But shining, most of all, with pure, brilliant light.
I loved all the story, but that was my favorite part! :)
I really enjoyed reading this amazing story about my favorite characters! Thank you very much for writing it! *hugs*

Date: 2010-10-21 06:21 pm (UTC)I really enjoyed writing this story, and exploring how much Bruce means to Clark, and all the observations Clark has made of him. And all the different versions of Bruce, as well!
I loved the ending too, Clark was making me want to glomp him here, lol. *pets him*
I'm so glad that you liked this, and I hope that you feel better soon. *hugs again*
