Batman crouched on a gargoyle, swathed in shadows, looking over his beloved city for a moment, before he returned his attention to the scene below him.
Five men were breaking into a warehouse, intent on stealing the electronics stored inside. Nothing special or fancy. But they didn't know that tonight, everything was going to change.
Batman turned, looking at the figure behind him, the bright colors of his costume muted in the darkness. "Are you ready?" He asked, rough voice more gentle than usual.
The figure nodded, and stepped towards the light.
"Then go," Batman said.
The figure paused for a moment, before jumping into the night.
Robin took his first flight and became part of the legend of Gotham.
