arch_schatten, who requested: some Pieter and Clark interaction, maybe looking at their odd snarky tinkerers. Clark and Pieter didn't want to talk to one another for some reason. *peers at them* Anyway, I hope you like it! Unbetaed, so point and I shall correct.
Clark smiled wryly at the sight of Bruce and Michael in full geek modes, enthusing over their latest project. He was supposed to be picking Bruce up and taking him back to his apartment for dinner, but... well, Bruce was having fun. Far be it for Clark to stop him.
Pieter walked quietly into the room, without Charlie for now. He had learned, it seemed, to not have Bruce and Charlie in the same room. Clark grinned at the memory of the last time they had been. He and Pieter exchanged amused glances, then watched their oblivious partners. This happened surprisingly regularly, Clark and Pieter watching Bruce and Michael tinkering with something or the other. It was actually one of Clark's favorite pastimes, watching Bruce like this.
He glanced at Pieter and saw a matching fond smile on his face. Pieter turned to look at him and smiled. They went back to watching Bruce and Michael, their enthusiastic voices the only noise in the room, as they babbled over each other in a confusion of specs and measurements.
Clark sighed gently, feeling love for Bruce filling his being, seeing Bruce like this, eyes alight. Bruce turned, and at last noticed his presence, eyes lighting up even more. He was beautiful with his cowl down, hair mussed, and a smudge on oil on one of his cheeks. Bruce put down his tools, and moved across the room to stand next to him. Clark kissed him deeply, amazed once again that Bruce was his.
They rested their foreheads together after the kiss broke, Clark listening to Bruce's pounding heartbeat, feeling slightly smug that he was the only one capable of doing this to Bruce. He saw Pieter and Michael having a similar reunion at their sides. Clark smiled and brushed his lips over Bruce's forehead, bringing him close, feeling his own heart thumping in his chest as Bruce's scent filled his senses.
He smiled again as Bruce settled in at his side. He and Pieter exchanged glances again, over their tinker's heads. Clark closed his eyes, squeezing Bruce gently, feeling his smile grow as Bruce, with Michael's input, started to tell him and Pieter what they had been doing.
There was no place in the universe Clark Kent, Kal-El or Superman, would rather be.
