I'm not sure how much this fits what you asked for... lol.

Clark was looking around the grand room the fundraiser for local clinics was being held in, wondering where Bruce had disappeared. It was disconcerting how the man could vanish on him without him ever noticing.
He dodged a waiter, trying not to bump into him. The last time he had been at a party he had, and... well. The results hadn't been pretty. Which was why he was now wearing a hand-picked by Bruce suit. He was feeling very self-conscious in it. It fitted far better than the suits he normally wore. But, he could never deny Bruce, and the slight pout he had shown had been Clark's undoing.
He manoeuvred his way over to the wall at the spot he had last seen Bruce, eyeing the very tall and many green leaved plant next to him. He scanned the room, still not seeing Bruce, but spying two other familiar faces, standing next to the wall opposite him.
Clark took a deep breath and headed towards them.
*****
Bruce peaked in at the party from where he had retreated to a balcony. He saw Clark looking for him, and felt a moments guilt that he had abandoned him. But if he spent another moment in that room, full to the brink with people, he would go insane. He needed a moment or two to just catch his breath, to be on his own. But he smiled as he saw Clark making his way through the crowds, towards Michael and Pieter.
His lover looked gorgeous in his new suit. The plans he had hatched of ruining Clark's previous suits had gone perfectly. From what he could see Michael and Pieter were dressed very nicely, too. He smiled as he saw Clark talking to them, fiddling with his glasses slightly.
Bruce turned away, looking out at the buildings, at Gotham, at her lights, and there, standing tall above them all, was Wayne Tower.
A bird flew by the balcony and he started at its sudden appearance. His eyes widened and he looked about - not in a panic, of course not in a panic - for that... that owl Pieter took everywhere. The creature had a vendetta against him.
He was still eyeing his surroundings suspiciously when Clark and Michael and Pieter joined him on the balcony. Clark smiled at him, easing away some his wariness.
"Thought you'd disappeared on us."
Bruce shook his head, staring at a shadow. Clark slipped his hand into his. He nodded at their companions. "Michael. Pieter."
They nodded back and Bruce could see a gleam in Michael's eye that meant he had something techy for him to look at. As long as that damned owl wasn't there...
"No owl tonight?" He asked casually, pretending he didn't see the barely hidden smiles of amusement as Pieter shook his head.
Bruce relaxed slightly. He'd have to go back into the party in a minute, back to the people demanding his attention. But not right now. He squeezed Clark's hand, heart speeding up at the dazzling smile that adorned his lover's face. Not right now.
