Meme!!!!

Contrary to what I said in my last post about writing...

Stolen from [livejournal.com profile] anthraciteowl

Give me some characters (DC, please!) and an alternate universe. Maybe a prompt too, if you'd like. If I like the idea, I'll give you at least a drabble about them in that universe.

I suspect I'm going to be slow in responding...

My personal favourite idea - Clark, Diana and Bruce in Regency England (think Pride and Prejudice!).

I'm actually writing something like this, but I always like to see what other people come up with!

[identity profile] genclay.livejournal.com 2008-06-30 06:51 pm (UTC)(link)
I was going to come up with one, but my mind is empty so I'll second this instead :D

Hee! I think my Bruce!Muse got more into this than Clark and Diana did... I'm a bit hampered by not knowing much about the era, but here it is! :)

Bruce sipped his tea delicately, looking around the room. His companions for Afternoon Tea both smiled at him in return. Diana, a princess from a distant and mystical land, looking stunning in a blue dress, dark hair piled atop her head, a necklace of of diamonds and sapphires glittering at her throat. It had been a gift from Bruce.

Opposite them sat their companion, Clark, a worker on a farm on one of Bruce's vast estates, yet dressed finely. A keen intelligence lurked behind his eyes, and it would be a grave mistake to underestimate him, Bruce knew, though he seemed like any other common labourer.

Bruce took another sip of his excellent tea, then placed the saucer and cup gently upon the small table, before taking one of the sandwiches that Alfred had prepared for their Afternoon Tea.

Clark's eyes twinkled at him. Bruce smirked slightly in return and continued to enjoy his Afternoon Tea to the utmost.

Clark/Bruce - Wild West story where Bruce wins Clark in a poker game!

[identity profile] starsandsea.livejournal.com 2008-07-04 06:34 pm (UTC)(link)
LOL, okay! :P

*****

Bruce eyed the Sheriff, pretending to look nervous like the novice he was meant to be. The Sheriff smirked, confident that he was going to win. Bruce tried very hard to resist the impulse to roll his eyes, instead taking a sip of his drink. The sweat upon his face from the desert sun only made his role as a nervous out of towner, who had somehow managed to be tricked into playing poker with the Sheriff, even more real.

His eyes flickered about the Sheriff's office; the deputy was out searching for 'The Bat', who had been sighted in the area. Wanted posters bearing Bruce's masked face were upon the wall.

Bruce hid his smirk by taking another sip of his drink. The stakes were high in this game, only because the man opposite him believed him to be a naive idiot.

"Well? Are you going to show me those cards?" The Sheriff was grinning, certain that he had won.

Bruce smiled, then slowly placed his cards face up on the table, revealing a royal flush. He smirked, then gathered his winnings from the table, putting the money back into his pouch, and picking up the key, while the Sheriff was still looking at the cards, dumbfounded.

Bruce walked over to the cells and opened the locked door, letting the solo occupant out. "It's been a pleasure, Sheriff," he drawled, stepping out of the office and into the bright sunlight, his hat shielding his face from the glare of the sun, the prisoner following him.

Only once they were riding away from the town did Bruce speak to him. "That's the last time I win you in a poker game, Clark!"

LOL. I loved it! Thank you.

*grins* I'm glad you liked it! :D

Yay! I have spread the madness!

Bat-Clan in 1950's Hollywood.

[identity profile] starsandsea.livejournal.com 2008-07-06 07:26 pm (UTC)(link)
LOL, my muses wouldn't let me write this, for some reason! But I've got the 'roles' here, like in that other AU meme that went around...

Bruce is a director, of course. :p Dick is a stuntman. Babs was a actress until an accident on set paralyzed her. Jason is a young up and coming actor, who specializes in the angsty roles. Tim is Bruce's assistant. Cass is Bab's helper, and secretly teaches Dick moves. Steph is a young up and coming star.

LOL, they went more modern than 1950's! :( Ummm... yes. I hope you're not disappointed!

[identity profile] anthraciteowl.livejournal.com 2008-07-06 10:22 pm (UTC)(link)
That's fine. Don't worry about it. Muses are ficke creatures.
And I like your roles.

[identity profile] starsandsea.livejournal.com 2008-07-07 06:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Yay! I'm glad you liked my choices, lol!

I love this meme!

Um, um, Clark and Bruce in a Shakesperean play of your choice? :)

[identity profile] starsandsea.livejournal.com 2008-07-01 07:11 pm (UTC)(link)
LOL, I remember trying to write this for you before, and failing terribly! :P Anything else you want instead? :)

[identity profile] jij.livejournal.com 2008-07-02 05:15 am (UTC)(link)
*facepalm* That's what I came up with last time too? I am lame! :)

OK, how about Clark and Bruce as members of a popular teen boy's band? *grin*

[identity profile] starsandsea.livejournal.com 2008-07-06 07:35 pm (UTC)(link)
LOL, it's not lame! I hope this isn't! :p

Bruce sighed and closed his eyes, falling back onto the soft bed in his hotel room. He sighed again, arching his back, feeling the tension starting to drain away.

He was alone at last.

He had never realized when he started up the band 'The JL', just how popular they would be, how fans would constantly be chasing after him, after their first hit song. But, tonight he had begged off the obligatory press conference. He had a cold, picked up on the flight, as far as anyone knew, though Clark had cast him a bemused look.

Bruce sighed again, then pressed his face into the soft sheets upon the bed. He heard the door to the shared suite open. He reluctantly opened his eyes.

"Clark?"

Clark smiled at him, closing the door. "You're sick, aren't you? So someone has to stay behind to look after you. Besides, Hal and Ollie are more than capable of handling the press conference."

Bruce raised an eyebrow, then smirked as Clark smiled suggestively. Bruce laughed lowly, then was pounced upon by Clark, who proceeded to capture his lips and kiss him deeply. Bruce responded eagerly, hands pulling Clark's shirt off.

Surely, the fangirls would have fits if they knew just who the hit song was really about. Bruce smirked, and and kissed Clark again.

Aw, Bruce writing a super-secret hit song about Clark, yay! This was adorable. *grins* Thank you so much!

[identity profile] starsandsea.livejournal.com 2008-07-07 06:27 pm (UTC)(link)
*pets Bruce* He's being really sappy... *glomps him*

I'm glad you liked it Jen! *stares at your icon* Ooooh... pretty...

I think Clark/Bruce in Tudors England will be quite interesting.
Especially if their love are so tragic as Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn.

[identity profile] starsandsea.livejournal.com 2008-07-11 06:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Okay, this really isn't what you asked for... but it's what the muses gave me! And I'm sorry I've taken so long to write it!

*****

Clark lay in Bruce's bed, the small space hardly enough to hold him, let alone his Bruce too. But Bruce was currently sleeping, sprawled half on top of him. Clark didn't mind, he just held him closer, pressing a kiss into his sweat damp hair.

It was dark in the room, but it didn't bother Clark. The darkness was their friend, their ally. It hid them from the eyes of people who wouldn't understand, who could never understand. Like his wife.

Clark sighed, feeling the weight of Bruce pressing on his chest, grounding him. It sorrowed him that they had to hide like this, but he wouldn't give it up, give Bruce up, for the world.

Clark loved Bruce. It was as simple as that.

And while he knew that Bruce had his doubts about this secret relationship of theirs... He knew, that if it came to it, then Bruce wouldn't let go of him, either.

Clark sighed again. It would soon be dawn. He held Bruce closer.
