The scarlet cloak fell about her, bold against her skin, her dark hair, her laughing blue eyes.

Steve stared, entranced, could not move, could hardly think. She was a goddess, he thought, truly a goddess, stepped down from heaven to these mortal lands, rough and uncouth, come to bless them all with her mere presence...

Come to bless him. It was incredible; he could not believe it. But she was here, was... was... There were no words for her; she was beyond them, completely.

But she, beautiful, wondrous Diana, only laughed brightly again, then took his hand and kissed him.
