Drabble: The Eye of the Storm

Title: The Eye of the Storm
Rating: PG
Pairing: Batman/Gotham, Bruce/Clark
Word Count: 142

Author's Note: Unbetaed, so point and I shall correct. :)

Batman’s cape swirled about him as a gust of wind danced across the rooftop. Rain lashed against his armour. It was a dark and stormy night, and he loved Gotham all the more on nights like these.

When she lay half hidden in rain clouds. When the wind caressed her and the rain lashed her. She was wild and primeval, and it was on these nights that her darker children were at their worst. When they would lay traps and he would hunt them. When Gotham would hide her smile as she waited to see what chaos would she could next bring...

Oh yes, Batman loved these nights. And Bruce loved the mornings, when he would shed his armour, climb into bed and watch as the storm clouds disappeared; the sun rising, and see Clark’s eyes, lit with gold, as he woke.

I like the image of the cape swirling about Bruce.

When Gotham would hide her smile as she waited to see what chaos would she could next bring...
Bruce knows his Gotham so well! And your description of the dark, rainy and windy city was excellent!

And Bruce loved the mornings, when he would shed his armour, climb into bed and watch as the storm clouds disappeared; the sun rising, and see Clark’s eyes, lit with gold, as he woke.
I loved that!

That was beautiful! Thank you so much for sharing this with us Star. :)

I had so much fun writing the descriptions of Gotham in this story, imagining Gotham on a stormy night... And then the light in the morning, and Clark. :)

Oh, I really love the way you capture that feeling of a morning after a storm, how clean and bright everything feels...it really works so well with these two!
