taro_twist! Unbetaed, so point and I shall correct. :)
Bruce looked at the horse. The horse looked back. Bruce swallowed a sigh. It wasn't that he didn't know how to ride - of course he knew how to ride, it was practically mandatory that someone like him know how to ride. He had competed in Polo competitions (admittedly more so he could have an alibi for his injuries sustained doing quite a different activity) but he had never really been horse riding for fun. Just because he could.
He was always far too busy for a start, and although he had gone on a few rides with Dick over the years around his estate it wasn't the same.
Because it was Clark.
Bruce had lost a bet, and now he had to do whatever Clark had wanted, and the farm boy had of course not decided on any of the things Bruce had been mentally preparing for, but something else entirely. He suppressed another sigh.
"Come on, Bruce! Let's get going!" Clark looked down at him from atop his - or rather, Dick's - palomino mare, both of them glowing in the sunlight. He had a goofy grin on his face, but had taken off his glasses. He should have looked more like Kal . Instead, in his plaid shirt and jeans, speaking softly to the horse - Sunshine, of course, she was named - he looked more like Clark than ever.
Bruce shook his head, feeling a smile flutter at his lips. Adjusting his gloves, he mounted his dark bay horse, who Cassandra had christened 'Chocolate'. He could feel Clark's eyes on him. Bruce ignored them, leaning down to check the girth, feeling Chocolate shift underneath him as he did so. Satisfied, he straightened, and gestured to Clark to lead on.
Grinning at him, Clark did so, looking as graceful riding as he did when he was flying. Shaking his head, Bruce followed him, feeling extremely awkward, and much too large.
He couldn't deny the feeling of power, though, of the immense strength of the horse, surging beneath him, even at only a walk, though prancing a bit, wanting to get out and run.
Bruce felt himself smiling again, and relaxed, falling back into the semi-familiar rhythm, glorying in the knowledge that he wouldn't have to fall off, for once. Or not deliberately, at least.
Smile widening, he nudged Chocolate into a trot to catch up with Clark.

Nice touches: Dick's horse named Sunshine LOL! and Clark still looking very much like Clark even without his glasses, and Bruce finally relaxing and not worrying about fake falls. :)

I love this description of Clark, too:
He had a goofy grin on his face, but had taken off his glasses. He should have looked more like Kal . Instead, in his plaid shirt and jeans, speaking softly to the horse - Sunshine, of course, she was named - he looked more like Clark than ever.
*squee*
And this made me laugh:
glorying in the knowledge that he wouldn't have to fall off, for once. Or not deliberately, at least.
I can't help but giggle at the image of Bruce deliberately falling off of horses to explain his injuries, although that has to suck for him.
Thank you again, Star! This was awesome. :D

LOL, I had fun with the horse names and colors!

It's very giggle worthy! But it must be so so annoying... *pets Bruce*

Bruce must never have ridden for fun, really! It must be so annoying for him (not to mention painful!) to have to constantly fall off, lol!
Thank you for commenting, Jen! I'm really glad you liked it! :D

Oh Bruce! *Sigh* That’s great he has Clark to make him do something just for fun. :)
Because it was Clark.
I love this line.
and the farm boy had of course not decided on any of the things Bruce had been mentally preparing for, but something else entirely.
Well, the farm boy is clever and always knows what Bruce needs. *Smile*
I loved how you described Bruce’s preparing for the ride and his thoughts about his feelings, Clark and the horses. Bruce seeing that Clark looked more as Clark than Kal even without glasses – that was great!
Bruce felt himself smiling again, and relaxed, falling back into the semi-familiar rhythm, glorying in the knowledge that he wouldn't have to fall off, for once. Or not deliberately, at least.
Bruce being relaxed and smiling thanks to Clark - Perfect!
I enjoyed the story. :)
Thanks for sharing.

It is! He really does need Clark for him to do things like this. :)
Well, the farm boy is clever and always knows what Bruce needs. *Smile*
*giggles* The farm boy is very clever!
I really like the idea of Clark looking more like Clark without glasses than Kal. I'm not sure why, lol! I guess it depends on if you imagine Clark wearing glasses as a child? *shrugs*
Thank you for your lovely comment! I'm really glad you liked the story! :)

You have big bright sun-filled Clark riding on Sunshine as graceful as flying (through sunshine) next to powerful, complex, sharp tasting Bruce mounting a dark chocolate powerhouse thinking way too much until he remembers that out here with his Sunshine he can just enjoy being dark chocolate.
*grins* Yep! Dark chocolate Bruce can relax around his Sunshine... as long as he doesn't melt, that is! ;P
