Bruce opened his eyes. He was surrounded by warmth. Kal's arms. Bright sunlight was pouring in through a gap in the curtains. Bruce tentatively stretched his still sore body out and sighed in contentment. He rolled over to look at Kal. He was still sleeping, but a content smile was on his face. Bruce felt a smile come across his own. A wonderful feeling of freedom washed over him. He didn't need to worry anymore. He wasn't going to be sold again. Kal loved him, impossible as it still seemed. His smile widened.

He had never thought that someone would love him, let alone someone like Kal. But he did. He was loved.

Sleepy silver-blue eyes were looking at him, love and affection mingling in them. Bruce looked back, somewhat shyly. Kal leaned forward and kissed him gently, softly. Bruce sighed when they broke apart. Kal was grinning at him happily.

"Good morning, my Bruce."

"Good morning, Kal." He was treated to a dazzling smile every time he used the Prince's name. He was pulled closer to his... lover? practically lying on top of him. They both sighed in contentment.

They would move in a minute.

"Kal?" Bruce was sitting in the Prince's lap again as they ate their breakfast on the balcony.

"Yes, my Bruce?"

"What's going to happen now?" Bruce looked at him uncertainly.

Kal put down his knife and fork, turning his full attention to him. "First, I love you. That's never going to change."

Bruce smiled at him. "I love you too," delighting in being able to speak the words.

Kal grinned and kissed him. "I'm not sure about everything else," he admitted once they had broken apart. "But you're free now. You aren't a slave anymore. I've given you your freedom."

Bruce hugged him tightly, overcome with emotion.

"You'll become my consort now." Bruce stared at him, taken aback. "Not everyone will like it, but I don't care. I'm not going to lose you again," Kal vowed fiercely.

Bruce touched his face. "I'm not going anywhere."

"Good." Kal kissed him softly. "That's all I really know for now, my Bruce. I'll be arguing with my advisors and you'll be here, healing."

Bruce nodded. They sat in silence for some time, each occupied with their own thoughts.

"Kal?" Bruce finally drew his courage up.

"Hmmm?"

"What..." Bruce took a deep breath. "What happened to Luthor?"

Kal's hold tightened on him. "You don't have to worry about him anymore. He won't hurt you ever again, I promise."

Bruce looked at his face, and decided he didn't want to know what Kal had done to him. Instead, he touched his hair, running his hand through it. He loved Kal. Kal loved him. Bruce smiled in amazement.

For the first time in as long as he could remember, he was happy.

I am so glad there will be more. I love this verse and I love the happy ending, but I was sad to see the fic end. At least we will get more of this Bruce and his Kal. And I hope Lex got what was coming to him, the evil bastard.

Congratulations on finishing the first arc! I'm so glad a second arc is planned because I still have so many questions! Especially about Bruce's past. :)

Happy ending! :-) I was so glad to see them together and safe and cuddling. But at the same time, I can't help but feel like this really felt like the beginning to something...which makes me very glad that there is a second arc planned!

I am honestly not sure! I do kinda hope so... but I'm busy with other projects and such... Maybe I'll come back to it one day. :)

About Arc 2... I suppose I should take that line out - I have no idea what I'm doing with this verse, (this was written while I was recovering from an operation and was still affected by drugs, lol) so I'm afraid that I think this could be it. If I did do anything more with it, I think I would have to completely rewrite this Arc, and I don't have the time or energy for that... But at least this Arc finishes on a happy note? So... I don't know! But I'm really glad you enjoyed this! And thank you for all of your comments! They made my day. :)
