I had to chuckle over Clark wanting to take Dick away before he realized how strong the feelings ran for Bruce. And your description The bright young child seemed like he should be out of place here, but he fit right in somehow, Clark mused, as Dick lead him around the castle. is, of course, perfect! :)
LOL, yeah, Clark would have found trying to take Dick and Alfred away much more difficult that he thought! :)
