A sea of expectant faces looked up at him. On the sidelines, those few who had been unscathed looked at him with barely disguised hope. Hope for a savior.
Pieter swallowed, then pushed away his fear and doubts. These people needed him. They needed his help. He was a hero, he had faced down countless supervillians, had saved the world numerous times, was a member of one of the greatest - if not the greatest - superhero team in the world.
He could deal with this. No problem.
Pieter nodded to himself and sat down in front of the children. "Once upon a time..."
