He had had to get so very close to Kal, was practically right on top of him, struggling to disarm the Kryptonite bomb that would explode if Superman moved, if any more weight was added... Oh my! That was so tense!
Kal, who had started to move, leading him to snap at him, demanding him to keep still, he would die otherwise, why couldn't he keep still? He? Bruce was so close to Clark trying to disarm the bomb. They would both die! But Bruce’s concern was only for Clark. Bruce was so amazing there!
He slipped into Clark Kent's apartment, and waited in the shadows, feeling his heart beating in his ears, focusing on controlling it, so that Clark wouldn't know he was here. Waiting in the shadows – that typical for Batman/Bruce and I liked how you used it there. And I liked the part with Bruce trying to control his heart beating that Clark wouldn’t hear it – that was wonderfully done!
The clock in the kitchen ticked, seconds, minutes, an hour going by before Superman appeared, pain on his face. Emotional pain. Poor Clark.
"You have nothing to apologize for. Nothing at all." And then he kissed him, feeling his heart pounding in his chest, felt Kal's arms go about him, and knew that nothing could be more true than this. AWWWWWW! That was such a sweet and lovely ending!
Happy-ending please.' I’m glad I’m not the only one that prefers happy endings. :D
That was such an amazing story Star! I really enjoyed reading it. Thank you very much for sharing this!
