Snow, Tim thought, was pretty to look at. Fascinating to study, each individual snowflake. But, after you'd gone up against Mr. Freeze enough... And been through a Gotham winter, on patrol in sub-zero temperatures, in snow storms, in the wind that cut through your armour...

Tim sighed, glancing across at Cass. She was perched on a gargoyle, watching the crowd below with her usual feline grace. Only cats could never move as fast as Cass. Tim sighed again and wrapped his cape more tightly about himself. Cass tilted her head at him and he smiled wryly.

It still unnerved him that she could see everything with just a glance, not just what he wanted to be seen, but everything, even things he didn't want to admit to himself. He wondered what she saw, when she looked at him, at the people below.

Another gust blew over the roof, bringing more flakes of snow, which he irritably brushed out of his hair. It was at times like this he really regretted not wearing a cowl. Or at least a hood. Tim snickered at what a Robin suit would like with a hood, and Cass looked at him again.

"Do you like the snow, Cass?" He asked, surprising himself a little.

She looked up at the sky. "Pretty."

Tim smiled. "Yeah. Yeah, it is."

"But it... go away... soon."

Tim nodded, catching a note of sadness in her voice. The snow, each incredible, fragile, unique snowflake would be gone soon, its perfection and beauty only lasting so long. There was a metaphor in there and he wasn't sure he wanted to explore it. "What to swing by Oracle's for some hot chocolate?"

Cass was already gone, on another building already. Tim sighed, shook his head free of more snow, and followed her into the snowy night.

Great line! I could feel the cold reading this.

She was perched on a gargoyle, watching the crowd below with her usual feline grace. Only cats could never move as fast as Cass.
I like the description of Cass. (And the mention of gargoyle - it fits.)

It was at times like this he really regretted not wearing a cowl. Or at least a hood. Tim snickered at what a Robin suit would like with a hood, and Cass looked at him again.
Wow, Tim thinking about wearing a cowl (or hood) - Nice. :)

"What to swing by Oracle's for some hot chocolate?"
I would say – a hot chocolate was a good idea.

You wrote the story so beautifully from Tim’s POV. Thank you so much for sharing this. :)

Oh this such a lovely moment. It feels almost prophetic too, when Tim mused about not having a hood, and Cass talking about beauty and perfection is not forever. Gah. *misses Bruce*

Tim & Cass are so alike with each other in their... quietness. ♥

Ohhh, this was just perfect! I love Tim's slight unease around Cass, it seems very in-character for him to be uncomfortable with someone who could read him. And Cass finding the snow beautiful and fleeting is so sad and sweet... I really love the dynamic you have between them, it always feels so right when you write them. Thank you so much!

I quite liked that description of Cass! She reminds me of a cat that's poised to strike...

Hot chocolate on a cold winter's night is wonderful! :)

Thank you for commenting, Lis! I'm so glad you liked it! :D

I had a lot of fun adding those details in, of Tim thinking about wearing a cowl and Cass talking about how quickly things can change and disappear...

Thank you for commenting! I'm so glad you liked this! :D

Yay *dances* I'm so glad you liked it, Jen! :D

I always love writing Tim and Cass interacting, they have a really good dynamic with each other, both the... quiet members of the team, lol. *hearts them*

Thank you for requesting this, I had a lot of fun writing it! :)
