Diana smiled as she watched her lover display his prowess as a pilot. His plane swooped through the air in arcs, the pilot's joy and fearlessness visible in every move.

She ached to be up there in the sky with him, to be sharing that joy, to be able to see his face and laugh with him, their joy echoing around them. But at the moment she was bound to the Earth by her identity.

Later, though, they would take to the skies together, only she would do the flying; Steve's face would be lit by the sun, and her hair would twine about them as they kissed, again and again.

I would so love to see Steve and Diana just enjoying themselves and having fun flying together, in their different ways...

Thank you for commenting! I'm really pleased you liked it! :)

Indeed. The comics sometimes did that, but never had that "wow, I'm flying" feeling. That nice slice of joy and innocent discovery. Those were the days.

One of the final pre-Crisis arcs, Diana and Steve were kidnapped by space aliens, who had a fondness for machines. And our heroes had to devise a divide and conquer plan, where Steve would fix the Invisible plane (he had help from a renegade alien) while Diana distracted the villains. She then willed the plane to obey Steve while she was doing her tihing, and he had that ability until Crisis. It was pretty neat. More neat was that the plane did talk and formed coherent sentences. It was quite awesome.

Just saying for future reference, should you go there.

As a side note, sorry for the comment bombing, but I just discovered the pairing, recently, and searching for good fic. And here I am.
