It was interesting to share Bruce’s feelings and thoughts in this chapter. He had so many difficult problems to resolve and you described excellently his thoughts, fears, doubts as well as his effort not to give up these feelings. Dick, Alfred, Harvey – all these characters were very important in this chapter and you wrote the interaction of everyone of them with Bruce brilliantly. I loved it!
At least Stephanie seemed to be doing better now I was glad you mentioned Stephy. :)
Dick smiled now, and Bruce felt a vast sense of relief. It was nice to see Dick and Bruce solved their problem successfully.
Jason and Cassandra had responded enthusiastically when he had told them of their new mission, and were choosing the best men from their re-trained forces to accompany them. Jason and Cassandra leaving together was a great idea, IMO. I could see in one of previous chapters they both cooperated very well in the re-training of the soldiers.
He turned and saw Alfred there, a plate of food in his hands. Bruce smiled wryly and opened the door to his study properly Alfred was amazing in this chapter. Taking care about Bruce’s food and supporting him. Exactly what Bruce needed.
I am, slightly, for at least in my dreams I can see you. Awww, Kal’s letter was so nice. And I loved the mention of Krypto. :)
He wondered what Jor-El was up to. You know, it was interesting. Reading the Kal’s words about Diana, it occurred to me Bruce could be jealous. I don’t blame him. His thoughts about Kal needing an heir and Jor-El intentions – well, I understand it.
"Thank you, Bruce. I won't let you down again, I promise." He made an aborted movement, like he was going to reach for his hands and Ace went very still next to him. Bruce tried so hard to believe in Harvey. *Sigh*
Dick was clad in his battle armour, gleaming even under the grey sky. His eyes shone, too, ready for a fight, to really be able to do something... You described Dick in the armor and his enthusiasm and readiness for a fight perfectly!
OMG – the cliffy ending! I enjoyed this chapter! Thanks for sharing. :) LS.
