A shadow flickered across her face, and her eyes grew troubled, but as Harvey rose from his bow it disappeared, leaving Bruce wondering if he had really seen the expression or not. Harvey’s presence made Cassandra troubled – that's intriguing.
Alfred had set an extra place for Harvey. Somehow, he had known before any of them that Harvey had returned, and would be joining them. Alfred was amazing as always. He is always so well informed and prepared.
He wondered where Kal was, if he was thinking of him. The thought that they were both thinking of each other at that exact moment made him smile, made the lingering sadness a little lighter. They were still together, no matter how many miles apart. I loved to see Bruce was thinking about Kal. A little sad, but touching and nice moment.
Harvey leaned forward even more in his chair. "Bruce, you know how I feel about you. It hasn't changed, though all these years have gone by..." Well, I expected something like that.
Harvey was too far away for him to see his eyes; shadow covered his face again. But he could see him bow his head, and nod unsteadily. "Well then. Good night." Harvey closed the door before Bruce could utter a word of comfort or farewell. I was thinking I should be sorry for Harvey. But something was saying me, there could be something wrong with him.
"He.... not right. Almost, when he looks at you, but..." Cass sighed, obviously deeply annoyed that she could not put it into words better. Oh, that doesn’t sound good. It seems my feelings were right. And Tim was in agreement with Cassandra! I liked they both went to Bruce to warn him about Harvey.
But Ace did whine again, until Bruce patted the blanket, and he jumped up onto the bed, taking up most of the space, of course. Awww, I loved it. There was quite a tense in this chapter and all the thing with Harvey left me worried for Bruce. But Ace brought a smile on my face. :)
He sighed again. He wished Kal were here. He would be able to talk to him, with and without words, get his input, his ideas, just to have him here. Oh, things would be sure much easier if Kal were there. Anyway, I was glad even if he wasn’t there personally, I could read a lot about him in this chapter. :)
Thanks for sharing this wonderful update. :) I look forward to more. LS.
