fictionalknight for the present I got today! Eeeee! *squees* Thank you so much! :D I wrote this fic a little thank you, but it is... odd! I hope it makes sense... Unbetaed, so point and I shall correct!
"Hello, Bruce," Barbara said, startling him for once.
"Hello Barbara." Batman uncurled himself from the shadows. Barbara moved her chair so she was facing him. There was silence for a few moments, save for the ever present noise of her computers, and the snow on Batman's cape melting, dripping on the floor. She would get him to mop it up before he left.
The thought of Bruce, in full Dark Knight regalia, mopping, was enough to send her into giggles. Bruce quirked an eyebrow at her, removing his cowl. Oh, she would have to make sure to get pictures of that.
"How are things with Dick going?" was all he asked, leaning against her kitchen table.
Barbara smiled now, happy. "Great. They're going great. Thank you."
Bruce smiled himself now, a small, satisfied smile. "I'm glad."
Silence fell again. Barbara turned back to her computers, quickly scanning the information she had missed since Bruce had arrived. Twitters had been updated, there were new e-mails in her many different accounts; the news had moved on to something new and, they hoped, exciting. So much had changed in only a few minutes.
After a while, she sensed Bruce coming up behind her, looking at one of the screens. She glanced out the corner of her eye, saw footage of Superman saving someone in Metropolis.
There was a sudden stillness behind her. Lois Lane appeared in the frame of the camera, interviewing eye-witnesses, shouting at Superman to wait for an interview.
Barbara bowed her head slightly. She reached up a hand blindly behind her, felt Bruce slowly clasp it, and squeezed his hand in comfort.
